1. Who was the biggest steal of the NFL draft?

The Great RG3 Heist Ron Fritz Baltimore Sun He cost them three first-round picks and a second-round pick, but the Redskins got the biggest steal when they traded up to No. 2 to select quarterback Robert Griffin III. The Redskins — the Redskins!...

  3. Ravens news, notes and opinions

This is probably pretty obvious, but it’s important enough to mention that the next 32 hours will be huge in the Ravens’ quest to retain Pro Bowl left guard Ben Grubbs. The Ravens have made what both sides have acknowledged was a substantial offer to Grubbs to convince him to eschew free agency and remain in Baltimore. All indications are that there isn’t much leeway to expand on the offer. Free agents aren’t allowed to negotiate with other teams until 4 p.m. tomorrow, but you can bet that Grubbs’ representative, Pat Dye, has already gotten a good idea about what teams are interested in his client and what they’re willing to pay. If Grubbs goes to free agency, that is a good indication that there will be another offer out there that surpasses the Ravens’ bid. And I wouldn’t be totally surprised if the Ravens then pull their offer and move on from Grubbs. That’s just my speculation based on them knowing they won’t win a bidding war with where they are with their salary cap situation.

  5. Free agent wide receiver market drying up on Ravens

At the NFL Scouting Combine late last month, Ravens coach John Harbaugh acknowledged something that was probably pretty obvious to anybody even remotely familiar with the team’s salary cap situation.

I began the day with a blog about the Ravens’ plan to upgrade their wide receiving corps and that’s how I’m going to end it.

  11. Super Bowl TV: Good game, nasty ads, pathetic half-time show

I was supposed to review NBC's telecast of the Super Bowl itself. You know, what kind of job did Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth and Bob Costas do? And I will deliver a short, fast version of that.

  15. Instant analysis: Giants hold on to beat Patriots, Ravens ask 'What if?'

Matt Vensel, Sports Blitz: A fun game down to the whistle, this one was eerily reminiscent of the last times these teams met in the Super Bowl. Eli Manning -- who said before the season the he was elite and lived up to it -- was so cool down the stretch and the Giants put enough heat on Tom Brady to seal the win. Can you believe Eli has more titles than Peyton and one fewer than Brady? Believe it.

  21. Fantasy Fodder: Five players you better hang on to

Desperation might be setting in inside your fantasy locker room if your squad is 1-3 or 0-4 at the quarter pole, especially if you’re in a cutthroat league where only four or six teams make it into the playoffs. We have enough data to see that trends are developing, and it looks as if some big names in fantasy are on track to be big busts.
