Ravens spent over $252 million on player salaries past two years

The Ravens were one of the highest spending teams in the NFL over the past two years on player salaries, investing a combined $252.25 million toward contracts. The Ravens spent up to 98.54 percent against the salary cap, well above the 89-percent minimum cash spending average. NFL teams are required to spend 89 percent against the minimum cash spending requirement between 2013 and 2017. If a team fails to do so, they have to pay the difference to the NFL Players Association and the players' union is free to distribute the money as it sees fit.
