  1. Rams Finally Won One; Can They Do It Again?

No question, the St. Louis Rams deserve to be 1-7. So far, they've proven only that they can beat another really bad team. To match or -- gasp -- top last year's 2-14 record, they know they'll have to step it up. "We've just got to keep plugging away," rookie head coach Steve Spagnuolo said during the bye week. "We're going to play some good teams, and hopefully we'll be playing some good football, too."

  7. Rams clear winners over Lions in the personnel game

The final score is St. Louis 13, Lions 9. That's not a prediction for the NFL's worst nightmare Sunday two teams that in their last 16 games respectively are a combined 1-31. Well, then again, maybe it is an accurate prediction. Anyway, take a shot of...

  13. Better on every side, Ravens picked to capture Super Bowl

I can't remember ever picking a team I covered to win the Super Bowl. I didn't when I covered the Ravens in 2000. But I did this year. Why? It starts with the defense. This defense already looks better than last season's. It's tremendously strong up...

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — After the final whistle, after an afternoon with as many boos as cheers from the home fans, the Washington Redskins retreated to a very quiet locker room. Anyone walking in would think they had lost. As tight end Chris Cooley put it: "Everyone was a little down in here."

  23. Quarterback Marc Bulger's Problematic Pinkie Among Many Concerns For Rebuilding Rams

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Video games are not among Marc Bulger's passions. He's not much of a typist, either, using what he refers to as the "pointer finger" whenever he must use a keyboard.
But if you're the St. Louis Rams' quarterback, a broken pinkie is fairly serious stuff.
Bulger missed the final three preseason games and took his first direct center snaps only four days before the opener, making the problematic digit a red flag for a franchise trying to move past a two-year stretch so dismal they landed the second overall pick both years.
