The Jets released quarterback Tim Tebow this morning after one unproductive season in New York.
"We have a great deal of respect for Tim Tebow," said Jets coach Rex Ryan. "Unfortunately, things did not work out the way we all had hoped. Tim is an extremely hard worker, evident by the shape he came back in this offseason. We wish him the best moving forward."
The timing of the decision will likely make it difficult for Tebow to catch on with another team after this weekend’s draft and the signing of undrafted players. The Jets had six quarterbacks on their roster after taking West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith in the second round.
