The Florida Citrus Bowl is a stadium in Orlando located near the city's Parramore community. It seats about 70,000 people, and is best known as host to the Capitol One Bowl, the Champs Sports Bowl and the annual Florida Classic football game between Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University. The stadium opened in 1936 and has been renovated several times since. The Citrus Bowl, which was the home field for the University of Central Florida Knights football team until 2006, is part of a $1.1 billion plan to renovate three widely used facilities in downtown Orlando.
