49ers select Samford safety Jaquiski Tartt

SANTA CLARA, Calif. Samford safety Jaquiski Tartt is the latest addition to an ever-changing secondary as the 49ers drafted him in Friday's second round (46th overall). Tartt (6-foot-1, 233 pounds) joins a safety unit that saw Eric Reid and Jimmie Ward arrive in the first rounds of the past two drafts, respectively. Ward is listed as a safety but mostly played nickel back as a rookie before re-fracturing his foot.
