1. Should Steelers get rid of Hines Ward?

No room for sentimentality Dan Pompei Chicago Tribune There is only one way the Steelers should bring back Hines Ward next season — if they believe he can make them a better team. There is no room for sentimentality or loyalty in the NFL....

  7. Marshal Yanda and the brutal, beautiful, violent game of football

We've spent a lot of time this year talking about how the NFL seems to be trying to tone down the brutality in football. For the most part, their efforts seem less sincere and more like public relations, because the rules -- which Roger Goodell appears to make up as he goes along -- are enforced in such an arbitrary way, no one seems to know why some hits are deemed illegal while others are celebrated.

  9. Ravens Q&A with Mike Preston

Kyle Oland: Every week it is seems as if Ed Reed is missing tackles. Is this a product of his previous neck injuries and he is afraid to sustain another injury? Or is this a product of a current injury? I feel like his inability or unwillingness to make a tackle is hurting our defense. It is obvious Reed's best football is behind him and father time is catching up to Reed. Do you think the Ravens need to address Reed's successor this offseason, and if so, who are the potential replacements?

  11. Terrell Suggs, Tom Brady put feud on hold heading into Sunday's game

Throughout the season, it seemed as if Terrell Suggs was making a conscious effort to keep Tom Brady's name out of his mouth. While spouting out sound bites on other NFL quarterbacks, such as Ben Roethlisberger and Tim Tebow, on the Ravens' long road to the AFC championship game, the linebacker randomly tossed in vague references to his longtime nemesis from New England.

  13. Tebow wars: Give it a rest

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is an evangelical Christian. He is devoted to his faith in a very public way, and that, as much as his perplexing play on the football field, has made him a cultural lightning rod. The wise heads of football insisted before this season that he is not actually much of a quarterback, that he had a weak, inaccurate arm and a devotion to a style of play that works in college (where he was a star for the University of Florida) but not in the NFL. But his base of fans, seemingly devoted to him primarily because of his religion and only secondarily because of his play on the field, were vocal in demanding he get his chance. And he did, leading the once woeful Broncos to the playoffs on the back of one improbable fourth-quarter comeback after another.

    1. Joe Flacco might not be playing in the Super Bowl this year, but he'll get to one eventually. And he'll do it wearing a Ravens uniform. After watching him play four years of football, and seeing him both at his best, and at his worst, I feel totally comfortable saying that. He may not be the perfect quarterback, but he's your quarterback, Baltimore.
