As the Ravens prepare for the Houston Texans, Sunday’s opponent in the AFC divisional round, defensive end Cory Redding didn't mind revealing the defense’s not-so-secret game plan to a roomful of reporters Monday.

  7. Mike Preston's matchups: Ravens vs. Texans

Ravens S Bernard Pollard vs. Texans TE Owen Daniels: They know each other from a season ago. Pollard will be starting in place of Tom Zbikowski, and Daniels should get plenty of action with wide receiver Andre Johnson out with an injury. Daniels has 21 receptions for 271 yards and a team-best three touchdowns. Pollard has six tackles and would like nothing better than to beat his former team. Edge: Daniels.

  9. First and 10: Monday afternoon NFL power rankings

Because doing a full, 32-team list of power rankings is too much work for a Monday afternoon, I will rank the top 11 teams in the NFL after each exciting football Sunday (that's where the "first and 10" comes in). Here is how I rank them heading into the playoffs (with an intriguing slate of four wild-card games starting Saturday):

  11. Pre-snap read: Ravens-Texans

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m rested and feeling good after the bye week. Ditto for the Ravens as they head into Sunday’s game against the 3-2 Houston Texans, though the Ravens aren’t as healthy as they would like. A few key Ravens have been ruled out for the game, but the injury bug bit the Texans harder. Houston will be without Mario Williams, its best defender, and Andre Johnson, one of the best receivers in the NFL.

  17. Quick hits: This isn't last year's Ravens team

As was the case when the Ravens and the Texans met in 2010, the Ravens held a lead after halftime. The score was tighter this time, with the Texans trailing by one score for much of the second half, but it never really felt like the game was in jeopardy. The Ravens maintained control on both sides of the football, and instead of sitting back, they stayed aggressive, grabbing a 29-14 win over the respectable Texans on Sunday.
