  1. Billick wants new playoff re-seeding plan

With the Ravens facing the possibility of starting the playoffs on the road should they lose to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday -- the Pittsburgh Steelers would have to win their game Sunday, too -- the topic of playoff re-seeding is relevant. There’s a chance the Ravens could finish 11-5, which would still be the AFC’s third-best record, and start the playoffs on the road against the AFC West champs (Denver Broncos or Oakland Raiders).

  3. Pre-snap read: Ravens at Chargers

Of the Ravens' remaining opponents, the toughest might be the 6-7 San Diego Chargers, who were the consensus favorites to win the AFC West before the season. The Chargers have been one of 2011's biggest disappointments, but they pose a serious threat to the 10-3 Ravens, who must win tonight to maintain control of the AFC's top playoff seed.

Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, who has a career-high 13 sacks this season, will likely be considered in the media's NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting at the end of the regular season.

  7. Would the Ravens handle Tebow and the Broncos?

The Ravens did their thing again Sunday, beating the winless Indianapolis Colts in another anxiety-free game. But that doesn’t mean the Ravens didn’t feel anxious afterward as they watched other AFC contenders handle their business, too, with the New England Patriots holding off a last-minute Washington Redskins rally and the Houston Texans stunning the Cincinnati Bengals with the game-winning touchdown with two seconds left.

  11. Ravens: What are the odds?

Depending on which online betting site you visit while you're supposed to be working, the posted odds on the Ravens winning the 2013 Super Bowl are anywhere from 12-1 to 20-1, which has some of the message-board maniacs all up in arms.

  13. Which ex-Raven will have the biggest impact in Kansas City?

If it weren't meaningless in terms of wins and losses, Friday night's preseason affair with the Chiefs would have an interesting storyline as three former Ravens return to Baltimore. The final score doesn't matter, though, so Le'Ron McClain, Jared Gaither and Kelly Gregg can't get revenge against their former employers this time around.

  15. The nine teams that can win the Super Bowl in 2011

I'm not very good at making preseason predictions. Two years ago, I picked the Giants to beat the Chargers in the Super Bowl. Last season, I wrote a column saying the Ravens would go all the way, and they might have had they not fallen apart against the Steelers. This year, I'm feeling good about the Patriots and the Packers -- and yes, I felt that way before Thursday night -- but considering my track record, neither will win it all in 2011.

  19. NFL power rankings: Who is ahead of the Ravens?

A month into the 2011 season, the 3-1 Ravens have established themselves as one of the early favorites to play in the Super Bowl in February. They manhandled the two teams that played in last season’s AFC championship -- the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets -- and lead the NFL with an impressive plus-62 point differential.

  21. 6 new teams that could reach playoffs this season

Last season there were a total of five new teams in the NFL’s 12-team playoff format. Given surprisingly slow starts in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Indianapolis and elsewhere this season, that number could easily rise. At the quarter pole, here are six also-rans from 2010 that may be good enough to break into the postseason party in 2011:

  23. What should Broncos expect next season?

Well, that depends Dan Pompei Chicago Tribune Really, there should be two sets of expectations for the Broncos in 2012. The first set of expectations assumes Peyton Manning is healthy and as able as he was earlier in his career. If that is the case,...
