1. Offensive fireworks have been Patriots' calling card

After the New England Patriots dropped back-to-back games to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants in Weeks 8 and 9, there was chatter that the Patriots, then 5-3, were on the verge of losing their grip on the AFC East to the New York Jets and — gasp! — the Buffalo Bills.

3. Who will win NFL's weekend games?

Expect the expected Peter Schmuck Baltimore Sun Though it would certainly add some spice if Tim Tebow could pull off another last-minute miracle against the Patriots, it doesn't look like there will be a lot of surprises this weekend. The Patriots...

5. Jaworski defends Flacco, says Ravens can be super

Monday Night Football analyst Ron Jaworski still lives in New Jersey and is friendly with Delaware football coach K.C. Keeler, so it is fair to say that the former NFL quarterback has closely followed the growth and development of Ravens’ signal caller, Joe Flacco, a Garden State native and a former Blue Hen.

7. Blogger on Blogger: BSL's Chris Stoner talks Ravens football

Baltimore is blessed with a bunch of talented sports bloggers who bring their unique perspective to the conversation. I often link up to these local writers in my morning Coffee Companion posts, but instead of just exchanging anti-social links with them, I have decided to be slightly less anti-social by exchanging emails with them in a somewhat regular feature called Blogger on Blogger.

9. Who will be in this season's Super Bowl?

Patriots vs. Packers
Patriots vs. Packers Ken Murray Baltimore Sun In the AFC, Rex Ryan has painted a bull's-eye on his Jets. No question, his defense has credentials. But his passing game is vulnerable and his quarterback is shaky in the red zone. More likely, it will...

11. The nine teams that can win the Super Bowl in 2011

I'm not very good at making preseason predictions. Two years ago, I picked the Giants to beat the Chargers in the Super Bowl. Last season, I wrote a column saying the Ravens would go all the way, and they might have had they not fallen apart against the Steelers. This year, I'm feeling good about the Patriots and the Packers -- and yes, I felt that way before Thursday night -- but considering my track record, neither will win it all in 2011.

19. Flacco cleanly dismantles notion of Steelers jinx

Some consider Sunday's 35-7 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers a statement game for Joe Flacco. But it was more like a rebuttal by the Ravens quarterback.

21. Ravens fans: Do you really think the Ravens could find a better QB than Joe Cool?

Frankly, I'm amazed at some of the mail that I've been getting in the aftermath of the Ravens' loss to the Patriots in the AFC championship game. Even after Joe Flacco delivered what appeared to be a title-winning TD pass to Lee Evans (that went uncaught through no fault of of the quarterback) and out played Tom Brady for the last three quarters of the game, there are people out there who want to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

23. Fantasy Fodder: Five players you better hang on to

Desperation might be setting in inside your fantasy locker room if your squad is 1-3 or 0-4 at the quarter pole, especially if you’re in a cutthroat league where only four or six teams make it into the playoffs. We have enough data to see that trends are developing, and it looks as if some big names in fantasy are on track to be big busts.
