Of the seven Division I teams from Maryland, Loyola Maryland probably enjoyed the weekend the most.

The No. 11 Greyhounds became the first team to lock up a berth in the NCAA tournament after pounding Army, 14-6, in Sunday’s Patriot League tournament final and earning the conference’s automatic qualifier. Loyola returns to the NCAA postseason for the fourth time in the last five years.

No. 3 Maryland’s 11-8 victory over No. 8 Johns Hopkins on Saturday means the Terps are the top seed in the Big Ten tournament. The Blue Jays are the No. 3 seed and could make their lives a lot easier by beating No. 16 Rutgers in Thursday’s semifinals.
