Maryland made it official Monday in announcing the hiring of Jimmy Brumbaugh as defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator.
Brumbaugh spent the last four years at Kentucky, where he helped develop two future NFL players, Za’Darius Smith of the Ravens and Bud Dupree of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dupree was a first-round pick in 2015, while Smith was taken by the Ravens that year in the fourth round. They were among the four all-SEC defensive players Brumbaugh coached with the Wildcats.
Prior to going to Kentucky, Brumbaugh coached for two years at Syracuse, where he oversaw defensive tackles and the defensive line.
