No. 9 Johns Hopkins rallied from a seven-goal deficit to beat No. 10 Virginia, 15-13, and claim the Doyle Smith Cup for a second year in a row Saturday.
The win marked the largest deficit that the Blue Jays (6-2) have ever overcome.
The host Cavaliers (7-3) built a 9-2 halftime advantage. Dox Aitken scored three of his game-high six goals in the first half for Virginia.
Hopkins regrouped and answered in the second half. Cole Williams ( Loyola Blakefield) scored the first two goals of a 6-0 Blue Jays' run that went from 13:52 to 2:55 left in the third quarter.
