Digest (July 20): United States advances to World Cup women's lacrosse final, 19-8

The United States advanced to the gold-medal game at the Federation of International Lacrosse Rathbones Women's Lacrosse World Cup after beating England, 19-8, on Thursday in Guildford, England. The United States will meet Canada on Saturday at 10 a.m. in a rematch of the 2013 World Cup final. Kayla Treanor led the U.S. offense with five goals and three assists to her second Player of the Match honor of the tournament. Treanor is the tournament's leading scorer with 24 goals and 19 assists. Michelle Tumolo was one of five U.S. players with two goals, and she added three assists. In the other semifinal, Canada beat Australia, 8-6, in overtime.
