Loyola Maryland overcame a cold shooting spell to start the second half in its home opener and defeated Fairfield, 59-52, on Saturday night behind 20 points from senior guard Dylon Cormier (Cardinal Gibbons). Cormier was the only Greyhound who scored in double figures. The next-highest was eight points by junior guard R.J. Williams, including 6-for-6 at the free-throw line.
