Cody Joyce (Southern) scored a season-high 21 points and the UMBC men's basketball team held host Kennesaw State to 15 points in the second half to win, 66-53, on Saturday at the KSU Convocation Center. The win marks the second in a row for the Retrievers (2-9). The Owls fell to 4-8. UMBC hit a season-high 54.2 percent of its shots from the field (26-for-48) and converted 11 of its final 12 free throws to pull away down the stretch.
