Men's college lacrosse coaches support contact ban before recruits' junior year

Division I men's coaches voted Friday to support a ban on contact between coaches and recruits before Sept. 1 of a prospect's junior year of high school, according to Inside Lacrosse. The vote, which took place at the annual Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association convention in Baltimore, will require approval from the NCAA. An advisory committee chaired by Princeton coach Chris Bates led the discussion, which lasted for more than a year, building consensus among the 70 programs and more than 200 Division I coaches.
