State hoops: Towson men hold off UMBC, 77-66

The Towson men's basketball team held host UMBC without a field goal for 8:19 in the second half to earn its sixth straight victory, 77-66, on Saturday.

The Retrievers (0-5) pulled with one point on Malcolm Brent's layup with 10:04 remaining in the game. The Tigers (6-1) took control as Eddie Keith II drove and passed to John Davis down low to start a 24-7 run. Mike Morsell had five points, including a 3-pointer from the corner to push the advantage to double figures with four minutes left.
