NCAA lacrosse roundup: Maryland women rout Denver, 15-4, in second round

Megan Whittle (McDonogh) had six goals and two assists and No. 1 seed Maryland allowed a season-low four goals in a 15-4 rout of visiting Denver in the second round of the NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse tournament Sunday.

Megan Taylor (Glenelg) had 11 saves and a .733 save percentage. The Terps (19-1) caused 17 turnovers and numerous shot-clock violations.

Caroline Steele (Severn) added four goals, Jen Giles (Mount Hebron) had three and and Meghan Siverson chipped in two for Maryland, which hosts Navy in the quarterfinals Saturday at noon.
