Chiefs take Olney's Dorian O'Daniel, LB from Clemson, in third round

The Kansas City Chiefs took Clemson linebacker Dorian O’Daniel of Olney with the No. 100 overall pick in the NFL draft Friday night.

The former Good Counsel standout earned second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors last season after leading the Tigers with 103 tackles, including 11.5 for loss and five sacks. A finalist for the Butkus Award, given annually to the country’s top linebacker, he also tied for first in Clemson history in special teams tackles (47) and second in games.

At 6 feet 1, 223 pounds, O’Daniel is small for an outside linebacker but has good lateral agility and is a versatile defender.
