Two-time defending national champion Maryland rolled to the No. 1 spot in the NCAA Division I women's lacrosse tournament field Sunday night, fresh off a Big Ten Conference championship and its 19th win in as many games.

Johns Hopkins (10-7), an at-large selection, made it as an independent, a year before joining the Big Ten.
