Nate Lewnes wouldn't say he's superstitious, but the senior attackman for the UMBC men's lacrosse team does have one rule he lives by. He plays with one stick, and unless that stick is broken, he doesn't play with any other.
Even if he's in a scoring slump, the Arnold resident and St. Mary's graduate said he won't abandon his stick.
"I can't do that," Lewnes said Wednesday. "I get too used to one. If I'm shooting bad, I know it's not the stick. I've got to figure it out because it's something else."
