Major League Soccer D.C. Council approves new United stadium D.C. United's plans for a new stadium at Buzzard Point were approved unanimously by the D.C. Council on Wednesday after a decade of setbacks. The roughly 20,000-seat venue will bring United up to financial speed with other Major League Soccer teams and provide the resources to invest in the types of marquee players previously out of budgetary reach.
