Nemo no problem for former Aberdeen athletes

Track and field athletes from Aberdeen delivered outstanding performances on both ends of a nor'easter named Nemo over the past week. Amanda Deller won two America East Conference titles in Boston just as the city cleared two feet of snow and reopened to transportation. Kiersten Bond earned the second victory of her collegiate career in New York City, just as Nemo swept into the city on Feb. 8. Deller, a UMBC senior, won her fourth conference indoor title in the shot put Tuesday, tossing the 8.8-pound sphere 47 feet, 3 inches to win by 4 1/2 feet.
