Mavericks officially sign Amar'e Stoudemire, waive Ricky Ledo

As expected, Amar'e Stoudemire cleared waivers at 4 p.m. Wednesday and signed a contract with the Mavericks for the rest of this season. The 6-foot-10, 245-pound Stoudemire, 32, is in his 13th NBA season. It's expected that he will back up both starting center Tyson Chandler and power forward Dirk Nowitzki. Stoudemire was at American Airlines Center much of Wednesday afternoon going through a physical.
