After spending the first nine years of his NBA career with the Seattle SuperSonics, Rashard Lewis became a free agent and signed a six-year, $118 million contract with the Orlando Magic in 2007. He was born August 8, 1979, attended Alief Elsik High School in Alief, Texas and bypassed college when the Sonics made him a second-round draft pick in 1998.

He was born August 8, 1979, attended Alief Elsik High School in Alief, Texas and bypassed college when the Sonics made him a second-round draft pick in 1998.

Lewis became a star in Seattle, averaging at least 20 points a game for the three seasons before the Magic awarded him the richest contract in franchise history. He is a 6-10, 230-pound forward who has the versatility to be effective from both long range and from close to the basket. He played in the 2005 NBA All-Star Game.
