The 18th annual Lefty Kreh Tie Fest this weekend has a new venue and extended hours, a boon to anglers young and old. What will be missing, for the first time, is the event's namesake, celebrated fisherman Lefty Kreh. Kreh, who will be 93 on Monday, is in hospice care in his home in Timonium and unable to attend the Tie Fest today and Sunday at Loews Annapolis Hotel. It's the first time the affair will be held on multiple days, and somewhere other than the Eastern Shore. Admission is $10 per day, or $15 for both.
