Men's soccer UMBC beats Wake in PKs, gets Terps next The UMBC men's soccer team advanced past Wake Forest, 3-2, in penalty kicks on Thursday night in Winston-Salem, N.C., in the first round of the NCAA men's soccer tournament. The Retrievers (12-5-4) and Demon Deacons (10-7-2) played to a scoreless draw in regulation and two overtime periods before Michael Scott converted the game-winner in the fourth round.
