Thomas-led Celtics eliminate Pistons from playoff contention with 113-103 win

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. The Detroit Pistons were mathematically eliminated from playoff consideration with a 113-103 loss to the Boston Celtics Wednesday at the Palace. Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas buried the Pistons with 34 points on 10-for-17 shooting in 29 minutes to push the Pistons to six games behind the eighth-seeded Celtics (36-42) with four games remaining. Andre Drummond, who was angered early in the game after being yanked for failing to get back on defense, led the Pistons (30-48) with 22 points and 14 rebounds.
