Darren Collison
Kings point guard Collison expected to have surgery

Kings guard Darren Collison is tentatively scheduled to have surgery Tuesday to repair a core muscle injury that could end his season, the team announced Thursday. Collison has not played since Feb. 5 because of what the Kings have termed a right hip flexor strain. In a news release, the team said Collison is scheduled to have a consultation with Dr. William Meyers on Monday at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia before undergoing surgery Tuesday. Collison would be re-evaluated in three to six weeks, making it doubtful he could return before the Kings' season finale April 15. (c)2015 The Sacramento Bee (Sacramento, Calif.)
