UNCASVILLE – It barely took 15 minutes for the three best players in college basketball to become the first three chosen in the WNBA draft.
That was no surprise. It seemed to make perfect sense in every way considering where they came from. And now UConn, with its four straight national championships, has another mark of distinction.
The rebuilding Seattle Storm, wasting little time after waiting patiently for months for this day, made UConn All-American Breanna Stewart the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
