Born in Lake Wales, Fla on Nov. 16, 1982, Amare Stoudemire bounced through three different high schools before he was selected with the ninth pick of the 2002 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, where he has spent his entire career. He rose to stardom quickly, winning NBA Rookie of the Year in 2003. He played for the 2004 United States Olympic team that won a bronze medal. He also played in the 2005 and 2007 NBA All-Star Game. An imposing, 6-10, 245 pounds, Stoudemire has overcome two knee surgeries to remain one of the best centers on one of the fastest-paced teams in the league.
