The Orioles have avoided arbitration with Brian Matusz, signing the left-handed reliever to a $3.9 million contract for next season, according to industry sources.
With Matusz signed, closer Zach Britton is the Orioles’ only remaining unsigned arbitration-eligible player.
Matusz agreed to terms on a deal that was nearly midway between the salary figures exchanged last month. Matusz filed at $4.4 million and the Orioles filed at $3.5 million. He earned $3.2 million last season.
