Orioles minor league third baseman Austin Anderson has been suspended 50 games after testing positive for an amphetamine, Major League Baseball announced Friday.
Anderson, 22, batted .307 with one homer in 19 games with short-season Single-A Aberdeen last year.
He was the club's ninth round selection in last year’s draft out of the University of Mississippi.
Listed on the 2015 roster for Low-A Delmarva, Anderson’s suspension will start at the beginning of the Shorebirds season. He was one of four minor leaguers throughout baseball to be suspended Friday.
