Former Orioles reliever Troy Patton was slapped with an 80-game suspension Wednesday for a third violation of Major League Baseball’s drug policy after again testing positive for an amphetamine. Patton, a free agent, was suspended for the first 25 games of last season following a failed drug test for Adderall, which is an amphetamine banned by baseball unless a player has a therapeutic use exemption. That was Patton's second failed test. The left-handed reliever pitched in just nine games for the Orioles in 2014 before he was traded to the San Diego Padres in May in exchange for catcher Nick Hundley.
