The Aberdeen IronBirds first road trip of the season ended Tuesday in a three-game sweep at the hands of the Staten Island Yankees.

The IronBirds lost 3-2 to the unbeaten Yankees (5-0), while Aberdeen limps home with a 1-4 mark. The IronBirds hope that the home confines of Ripken Stadium will provide better results. The 'Birds will open their home season Wednesday night, hosting the Auburn Doubledays. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
