RF Avisail Garcia was supposed to have a breakout season. But that was not the case for the 23-year-old Miguel Cabrera clone whom the White Sox acquired from the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline in 2013. Garcia impressed in 42 games with the White Sox following the trade, hitting .304 with five home runs and 21 RBIs in 168 at bats. After a solid spring training, Garcia got just eight games into the 2014 season before tearing the labrum in his left (nonthrowing) shoulder diving for a line drive in Colorado. He was hitting .267 with two homers and four RBIs in 30 at bats when he was injured. Garcia then surprised the team by returning from surgery Aug. 16, but struggled. He hit .239 with five home runs and 25 RBIs in his final 38 games and struck out 37 times. Much will be expected of him again in 2015.
