Overflow crowds mirrored the optimism that swelled this weekend at the Cubs Convention.
Although President Theo Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer expressed their appreciation and even took time to pose for selfies with fans, the executives have guarded against assumptions that a young Cubs team that reached the National League Championship Series will fare even better in 2016.
They know major injuries, which the Cubs avoided last year, could severely affect their postseason hopes.
