  3. Jim Riggleman Resigns as Nationals Manager

    The Nationals have won 11 of 12 games and are shocking fans and opponents with their performance on the field.    Manager Jim Riggleman made a surprise move himself, resigning after Thursday's 1-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners.   According to Riggleman, he wanted to have a conversation with General Manager Mike Rizzo about his contract status.  Riggleman is working on a 1-year deal that runs out in October.   He was anxious to have his option year picked up by the team but Rizzo told him he was not ready to have a conversation about the contract.
