Orioles closer Zach Britton missed winning the first-ever Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year Award, finishing tied for second place behind Kansas City Royals closer Greg Holland. New York Yankees setup man Dellin Betances tied Britton for second place. Major League Baseball announced the award winners before Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday. Britton stepped in as the Orioles' closer in May and finished the season with 37 saves in 41 opportunities.
