Orioles claim catcher Luis Martinez off waivers from Texas Rangers

The Orioles have filled their 40-man roster again, announcing Friday that they added catcher Luis Martinez on waivers from the Texas Rangers. Martinez, 27, played in 10 games with the Rangers in 2012, getting two hits in 18 at-bats. The right-handed hitter also played in 22 games in 2011 with the San Diego Padres, the team that drafted him in the 12th round in 2007. Martinez is now the fourth catcher on the Orioles’ 40-man roster, joining starter Matt Wieters, primary backup Taylor Teagarden and Luis Exposito.
