Baseball league for those with disabilities a home run in Arbutus

It is a Friday night at one of the baseball fields next to Arbutus Middle School, and more than 20 kids have gathered with their parents, friends and family to play baseball. The players line up on the field, sing and salute the flag as the national anthem plays before the start of the game. They are part of the new Challengers League in the Arbutus Little League, for children and young adults with disabilities from around the area. Angie Schwartz, who is co-lead coordinator and a coach with the program, said the group played in Catonsville for 13 years as Champion Baseball.
