Josh Beckett is a starting pitcher for the MLB's Boston Red Sox. Originally hailing from Spring, Texas, Beckett played for the Florida Marlins prior to being traded to the Red Sox. While with the Marlins, he won the 2003 World Series MVP Award. In 2005, Beckett was traded to the Red Sox, and in July of 2006, he signed a three-year, $30 million contract extension with a $10 million club option for 2010. In his first season with the Red Sox, he had 16 wins, 33 starts and 204.2 innings pitched.
