TORONTO -- After working out for the Orioles at the club’s spring training complex Monday, former closer Jim Johnson signed a minor league deal with the Detroit Tigers, according to an industry source. The Orioles also offered Johnson a minor-league deal, which included an out clause that would have given Johnson the opportunity to go elsewhere if he wasn’t brought to the major leagues when rosters expand in September.
