Baltimore native Steve Clevenger picked the perfect time for his first career major league grand slam in the Orioles’ 14-8 win over the Kansas City Royals on Friday night.
Not only was Clevenger’s grand slam off Royals reliever Joba Chamberlain the exclamation point on the Orioles’ 10-run eighth inning, but it came with a special fan in the crowd.
Clevenger’s 2-week-old daughter, Peyton Lee, was attending her first game. Clevenger joked Saturday that she might be a good-luck charm.
