Greg Ross, a Loch Raven High School graduate and a pitcher for Atlanta’s Double-A affiliate, the Mississippi Braves, was trying too hard to make an impression early in the season.
His earned-run average ballooned to 6.62.
“I think early in the year he was pressing and trying to get out of here instead of doing what he does best,” Mississippi pitching coach Dennis Lewallyn said.
