PHILADELPHIA — Even without his best stuff, Jhoulys Chacin knew he needed to pitch effectively with the way his counterpart, Aaron Nola, was throwing.

Chacin tossed 61/3 strong innings and Austin Hedges drove in the winning run for the second straight game to lead the San Diego Padres to a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.
