Each time Orioles third baseman Manny Machado came to the plate this week in Oakland, he has been booed by a faction of the fans in the O.co Coliseum. On Tuesday, one screamed vulgarities at Machado loud enough that it could be heard clearly in the press box.
Machado said he hasn’t heard any specific taunts. Just the chorus of boos, and he’s fine with that.
“I’m out here to play baseball, I’m here to win. I don’t care what the fans do, boos and stuff,” Machado said. “I just go out there and try to black it out and go play. Honestly, I’m at the point where it doesn’t affect me, doesn’t bother me.”
