  • Five Bayhawks named to U.S. roster for FIL World Championship

    US Lacrosse announced Monday that five Chesapeake Bayhawks will be on the final, 23-man roster representing the United States at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship this month. Representing the Bayhawks on Team USA are attackman Brendan Mundorf (UMBC, Mount St. Joseph); midfielders Matt Abbott and Dan Burns (Maryland, Severna Park); and defensemen Michael Evans (Johns Hopkins, South River) and Jesse Bernhardt (Maryland). The Bayhawks' five players on the U.S. roster trail only the New York Lizards' six. Attackman Marcus Holman (Gilman); midfielders Kevin Buchanan (Calvert Hall) and Kyle Harrison (Johns Hopkins, Friends); defensemen Mitch Belisle (Severna Park) and Kyle Hartzell (Salisbury, Archbishop Curley); and goalkeeper Jesse Schwartzman (Johns Hopkins, Pikesville) also made the cut. Team USA begins play at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo., on July 10 against Canada.
