Right-hander Jorge Rondon, who was designated for assignment last Tuesday when the Orioles claimed Vance Worley from the Pittsburgh Pirates, has been claimed by the Pirates.
It basically has become a swap of right-handed relievers through waiver claims.
Rondon, 27, pitched in eight games for the Orioles this season, allowing 11 earned runs on 20 hits and six walks in 13 1/3 innings for a 7.43 ERA.
Claimed off waivers from the Colorado Rockies in May, Rondon posted a 2.33 ERA in 30 games for the Orioles’ Triple-A affiliate, the Norfolk Tides.
