On Sept. 1, 2007, in his second major league appearance, Buchholz pitched a no-hitter against the Baltimore Orioles, making him tied for the second quickest no-hitter by a MLB pitcher. Buchholz was the first rookie in Red Sox history to pitch a no-hitter. The game was the 17th official no-hitter in the team's history.
