25 Orioles minor leaguers apply for free agency

Baseball America has acquired the list of minor leaguers that have applied for free agency and there are 25 former Orioles farmhands that can now look for work elsewhere.

It’s a procedural filing – some of the players will come back to the organization. A guy like infielder Steve Tolleson, for instance, who is established with manager Buck Showalter and gets call-up consideration anytime there is a need likely will view the Orioles organization as his best bet and re-sign. That is unless he can land a big league deal.
