Right-hander Mike Wright needed a month of tough luck to change Saturday night, but it wouldn’t happen until he got a little tough love from superstar Miguel Cabrera in the Orioles’ 9-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers at Camden Yards.
It was the seventh straight victory for the Orioles (23-12) and the 11th loss in 12 games for the tailspinning Tigers (15-21).
Wright was trading scoreless innings with Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez until Cabrera hit a ball so hard in the sixth inning that it almost cleared both bullpens and reached the statue court well behind left-center field.
